I am a Junior multimedia journalism major with an aspiration of being a sports journalist & or sports broadcaster. I'm originally from Bowie, Maryland, and lived in the DMV area my entire life. I've been fascinated with sports, writing, and broadcasting since I was a freshman in High school. I decided it was best for me to combine my passions and pursue them!

N.C. A&T is home to plenty of entrepreneurial and innovative minds and these N.C. A&T sisters are a clear example of what Aggies do. N.C. A&T’s own Moriah Terry, a senior international business student and Aliyah Terry, a sophomore computer engineering student, launched their inaugural basketball showcase.

N.C. A&T’s Blue & Gold Marching Machine deserves more support
Despite N.C. A&T’s Blue & Gold Marching Machine (BGMM) being named band of the year by HBCU Sports for the third consecutive year, they do not get nearly the amount of support they deserve from the university.

Meet N.C. A&T’s Standout Running Back Bhayshul Tuten
Sophomore running back for N.C. A&T, Bhayshul Tuten, is already turning heads with his phenomenal play this season.
Originally from Paulsboro, New Jersey, football has been a part of Tuten’s upbringing since his youth.
“I started playing organized football when I was about eight, but I’ve been playing backyard football since I could remember,” Tuten said. “Seeing my friends play every day made me interested in the sport. Watching them have fun drove me to play myself.”

Celtics suspend Ime Udoka after sexual misconduct with staff member
After a stellar 2021-2022 season for the Boston Celtics, the team will be without their first-year head coach, Ime Udoka.
Ime Udoka has been suspended for the entire 2022-2023 season for a consensual relationship with a female staff member of the Boston Celtics.

The innovative record label created by three N.C. A&T students entitled “1891 Hot 10” seeks out the hottest rappers, singers and producers on N.C. A&T’s campus.
Founded in 2021, 1891 Hot 10 came from the minds of Cornell “Yung Nell” Mapp, Malique “Liq from the Peake” Hawkins and Jaden “DJ Bitty” Fraizer. The musically inclined students hoped to extend a platform for up-and-coming artists to showcase and perform their music on their collaborative album.

Bowling may not be the most popular sport on N.C. A&T’s campus, but it’s certainly in the running as the most accomplished.
N.C. A&T’s bowling team has six MEAC Southern Division Championships, a 2022 MEAC Championship, and a 2015 Intercollegiate Team Championship (ITC). The best part is the lady Aggies have a chance to add to their decorated resume.
On March 11, seniors Cristina Acosta and Lauren Tomaszewski qualified for the Intercollegiate Singles Championship (ISC).

WINSTON-SALEM – Despite an impressive effort, cold shooting thwarted the Cannon School girls basketball team’s bid to win a second state title in three years, as the Cougars fell to Rabun Gap-Nacoochee, 53-43, in the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association 4A championship game Saturday.
After losing in the semifinals last season, making it to the state championship was a major achievement, and Cougars coach Kelvin Drakeford still believes this program is on the rise.

My Goal
My goal is to inspire other young passionate Black women like me to stay true to their aspirations, despite how hard it may get. I want women to know they are just as qualified as men to have a career in the sports industry. I want to be a role model to individuals just like individuals have been role models to me.
